Greg was truly introduced to electronic music in the fall of 1999 making his a very short career. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; his childhood was spent listening to the guitar driven strains of Guns 'n Roses, Metallica, and later the Canadian Alterna-rock scene. Beginning his foray into trance writing tracks under the monicker Genome, Greg eventually took up DJ'ing as a means of gaining insight into the music from a mixing perspective. The intent was to apply this to improving the production side.

Becoming more deeply involved in the promotion of Local Motive eventually led to a greater involvement as a DJ. Spinning primarily progressive, Greg has a love and appreciation for a wide variety of genres and breaks, house and even the odd epic track can be heard in his sets.

As Genome, Greg has taken influence from many years of songwriting in a more traditional capacity and blended it with his more recent appreciation of electronic music. Genome provides the melodic and functional progressive base for the tracks. A love of layers contributes to the depth of the tracks with an ear for texture throughout. With the dynamic range of the tracks encompassing all frequencies, from the booming bass to the high textural synths, each track is an aural landscape.
