Electronic Music

Genome & Furious George collaborated on a number of tracks in 2001 at the height of the Rave scene in Edmonton. The influence of the trance of the time is evident but some of the tracks show hints of an appreciation for the broader range of genres that the pair would develop.

Year: 2001 | Length: 8:03 | Size: 9M | Bitrate: 160kbps

A dark, brooding trance track with a highly danceable second half.

Year: 2001 | Length: 6:20 | Size: 7M | Bitrate: 160kbps

The first part of the two track combo with Continuity, this one's more of a funky intro than a true trance track. A great sample in the middle and some layered percussion really makes the song.

Year: 2001 | Length: 10:29 | Size: 13M | Bitrate: 160kbps

The second part of a two song combo with Tekka Maki this is a melodic trance track with some great piano and some fairly epic breakdowns.

Year: 2001 | Length: 8:46 | Size: 11M | Bitrate: 160kbps

A light, fast paced track with a simple but groovy bassline and banging, heavy parts interspersed.

Year: 2001 | Length: 6:03 | Size: 7M | Bitrate: 160kbps

An over the top, dark, acid influenced track.

Year: 2001 | Length: 10:48 | Size: 13M | Bitrate: 160kbps

An epic, indulgent romp with sweeping synths and dramatic builds. Not for the faint of heart.

Remixes

Portal are an Edmonton rock group looking to provide an intelligent alternative to the mindless music we're bombarded with by the mainstream media. These two tracks were put together for their remix album "Element".

Year: 2005 | Length: 9:25 | Size: 11M | Bitrate: 160kbps

A remix that maintains the song structure of the original but with a breakbeat feel throughout the verse and the guitars largely missing. The chorus has a marching feel and the breakdown has been replaced with a completely original melody and a downtempo trip hop beat.

Year: 2005 | Length: 5:26 | Size: 9M | Bitrate: 160kbps

A highly derivative remix, this track was developed around a textural guitar line from the original track. The build in this track switches to a double time feel and I believe worked out very well.
